Ken Turner: Light Play with Luster

March 22 and 23, 2003, 10:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m.

In conjunction with BAM's Darren Waterston & Beatrice Wood: A Personal Alchemy painting and ceramic exhibition, Master Ceramicist Ken Turner will conduct this two-day hands-on workshop which invites participants to learn how to apply over-glazes of precious metallic luster and liquid bright metallic: gold, platinum and copper, to the surface of their ceramic work.

Ken Turner has worked with clay for 29 years and studied ceramics with notable ceramists including Patti Warashina, Betty Woodman, Peter Voulkas and Robert Sperry. He attended the Kansas City Art Institute and taught ceramics at Moshier Art Center, Highline Community College and Seward Park Art Studio. His work is exhibited at the BAM Fair, Artist Trust Annual Invitational, University of Washington and Northwest Craft Center.
